Booking Terms & Conditions

Poppy Cottages


Deposits -  A deposit of £100 is required to secure a booking when the arrival date is more than 4 weeks from the date of booking. The full cost of the booking is required, when the arrival date is less than 4 weeks from the date of booking.  Your reservation is only complete once your full payment has been collected.  A booking confirmation email will be sent upon receipt of any payment made. Please ask if you would prefer confirmation to be sent by letter.

 

Balance Payment - All bookings must be paid for in full, prior to your stay. The balance becomes due 4 weeks prior to your stay. 

 

Payments -  Deposit and full payments, for your stay, can be made by credit or debit card, cheque made payable to Poppy Cottages.  All card information is stored securely. 

 

Cancellation Terms -  Should you need to cancel your booking, then a minimum of 4 weeks notice is required, prior to the date of your stay, for a full refund of any money paid.  A 50% refund of any money paid, will be made when 2 weeks notice is given. In severe weather and if travelling is not advised, we will transfer any money paid to a future booking. We advise that travel/holiday insurance is taken out to cover for the eventuality of a late cancellation. We guarantee, that in the unlikely event we may need to cancel your booking, a full refund of any money paid will be made.

 

Accidents, Breakages and Spillages -  Guests must report all accidents or injuries to the owners of Poppy Cottages - Steve and Sally Hall, at Ivy Cottage Farm, Main Street, Carleton; that occur to them during their stay. Guest must also report any breakages, spillages or damage caused to any equipment or property, to the owners of Poppy Cottages - Steve and Sally Hall, that occur during their stay. Upon arrival to The Granary or Poppy Cottages, please bring to our attention, any damage or breakages, to appliances or fixtures and fittings;that you believe have occurred, prior to your arrival.  We reserve the right to invoice departing guests for any damage to any fixtures and fittings or to the property, that we believe has occurred during their stay.

 

Extra Occupants - The Granary has a maximum occupancy of 2 people; Poppy Cottage No. 1 has a maximum occupancy of 2 people. Extra occupancy in either The Granary or Poppy Cottage No. 1, is by special request only.  Poppy Cottage No. 2 has a maximum occupancy of up to 5. Extra charges apply to the standard rate in Poppy Cottage No. 2 when the cottage is occupied above 3 people. Notification of extra occupants to Poppy Cottage No. 2 must be made when booking the cottage. If Poppy Cottage No. 2 is occupied above 3 people, without extra occupancy being booked or paid for, then we reserve the right to ask you to leave the cottage before the end of your stay and also invoice you for the extra costs incurred along with an administration charge of £25.

 

Hot tub (Poppy Cottage No. 1) - Full safety instructions for using the hot tub are given in the Guest Information folder in Poppy Cottage No. 1. These instructions MUST be read PRIOR to using the hot tub. It is the NAMED PERSONS RESPONSIBILITY to Poppy Cottage No. 1, to ensure that all guests in their party are fully compliant to the 'Terms of Use' and that guests use the hot tub at their own risk once the guidelines for use have been read. The owners of Poppy Cottages cannot be held responsible for any accidents or injuries, that may occur when using the hot tub.

 

Pets -  Pets are not allowed in The Granary or Poppy Cottage No. 1 or Poppy Cottage No. 2.

 

Smoking - Smoking is NOT allowed inside The Granary or Poppy Cottage No. 1 or 2.  There are designated areas within the gardens of The Granary and Poppy Cottage No. 1 and Poppy Cottage No. 2 where smoking is allowed.
